Where is the floormat holder hook?

My floormat keeps sliding under the pedals. There's a hole in the floormat, but no hook on the car's floor to put in the hole. Please help.

It's on the PDI.

It's supposed to be put on during pre-delivery inspection along with a few other random things. If you bought the car new just bring it back and ask for it. If you bought it used, do the same thing but ask nicely.

I bought one for the passenger side from one of the vendors on this board. Cost about $4 if I remember correctly. I believe I needed to put a grommet in the passenger mat for it to work.

GREAT idea! My passengers can't seem to keep that thing where it belongs. Who did you get it from, and any info on how to install the grommet into the passenger mat?

They sell cheap kits at hardware stores to install grommets. Comes with a block of wood, a hole punch a bunch of grommet halfs and a setting tool. Less than $5. Only problem was the grommets are brass (at least its hidden).

Don't remember who sold the hook.

I found mine in the glove box along with the fastener in a small bag. Installed it myself. look around, it may be there somewhere.

Under the seat if it's installed, you have to get off the seat and feel around until you find a little cold metal thing sticking up - it should poke down if you push it! It's about a hands length from the front edge of the seat - look at the hole in the mat to see approximately where it should appear... It will feel rather larger than the hole looks and feel like a little rounded bump. Once you find it, and get the mat on it, you get a feel for it's location and then its really easy to remove and restore the mat.

It is easier to find if the seat bottom is all the way back, since the floor mat hook does not move with the seat but is attached to the floor.

I do P.D.I.S and it is part of the floor mat package on most cars and should be under the seat relly close to the edge on the bottom half.but most good dealers will install one for free if asked.hopr this helps:~)this is mostly if your car is ordered with front and rear mats.

Check behind the front seat on the floor, it might have come off and rolled around. And any dealer who charges for putting the carpet mat clips in is almost as dumb as the person who has to go to a dealer to get it done (assuming they already have the clips)
