RX8 is Gay Car of the Year runner up!
I don't know I don't think enough men drive this car for it to be gay. I mean on the road all I ever see are teenage chicks and older women driving the 8.........then again I don't have a gaydar .......so I vote the 8 as ladies car of the year
This would explain why "It's Raining Men" always starts playing whenever I start the car.
Oh noes... a group of people with better then avg taste and knowledge of cars likes the RX8... help me jesus!

it was a small list of cars to choose from anyway - kinda strange.
"Ten contenders were displayed over the three days of the expo . . .
Other finalists included Mazda's RX-8 coupe, which came a close second, Audi Allroad, Audi A4 cabriolet, Mazda3 SP23, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Territory, Ford Fiesta, Holden Monaro CV8 and the Holden Astra convertible."

Kinda funny that ford owns mazda and is also one of the largest supporters of the ghey community. http://www.boycottford.com/ Yea most of the people I see driving 8's are women. Traditionally miatas have been the car of choice, makes sense since it only has two seats.
"We found that the gay public has a good depth of knowledge of the vehicles and were aware about issues such as cost-of-ownership and resale value. They take their buying decisions very seriously and were also interested in the safety and quality of the cars."
LOL, you know this article was from 3 years ago when "resale" value is considered to be a plus on the RX8! If the article came out today, I guarantee the 8 would not be 2nd on the list based on this factor alone.

wow @ the "normals" comment...you saying gay people arent normal?? and no im not gay...i just happen to look at it like those who are homo-phobic probably harbor homosexual tendencies themself. Be comfortable with your sexuality...gays probably wouldnt want anything to do with you anways...hahahaha. but yes...intresting story...who would have known there was a gay award for cars. i wonder if the alternatives ran out and made a designer hand bag to match with the rx8 when they heard about this one....haha.
What I am talking about is.... From my observation, there are far more heterosexuals in this site than homosexuals, in fact, not knowing for sure how many homosexuals are actually on this site- on the surface with a quick glance one could arguably say there are no homosexuals that frequent this site. So, with that said. I base what I said on a few things. I do disagree with the assessment that the RX8 ranked the second highest chosen car for the homosexual community. Based on the "on the surface" glance of very little participation of homosexuals on this site. And another simple observations. For instance, My wife works in the fashion industry and myself and her are swamped in people with alternative lifestyles. In my many events and gatherings when my wife and myself are the minority, I do notice what cars I see at the these events because I am a car guy. The most of the time the only RX8 I ever see is mine. the other cars I have listed are seen far more than the rx8. That was my point.
At no time was I bashing or putting somebody down because they are gay.
It is common knowledge that the gay/lesbian community is a minority in society still. Granted, some people are still "in the closet" so the exact count is not fully known. But still gay/lesbians are still considered minority. The term Normal's would refer to people who practice in a normal heterosexual relationships. This term I used was from a friend of mine who is gay.
Also, it is very silly when somebody loosely uses the word homophobic. This would indicate somehow I am afraid of somebody or somebody's lifestyle. If one does not agree with that type of lifestyle that does not in any way mean they are afraid of gay/lesbians. It just simply means they disagree with it. As long as they are not projecting any hate or violence to people with alternative lifestyles. Their personal opinion on the subject is just that... Their personal opinion. And to be labeled as Homophobic is just stupid and only serves to label and drive a bigger wedge between the two.
Maybe.....In fact, the person quick to call somebody homophobic and make accusations that somehow they are insecure in their sexuality is themselves the one who is actually gay.... OOOOOO Touché!!! lol..
that's just dumb.
If you do not understand something it would be smart to ask what I meant instead of assuming the incorrect, and making some smart *** remark.
cheers.
