remeber that each of the cars starting with nagare has been closer to production than the previous one. Following the timeline i saw previously this car at Tokyo will be only like 2 years out!!!:) so its at "EVOLVE" stage. Next would be "First Yellow RX-8 prototype" stage at Detroit a year from now(or LA)


AND a fresh face for the RX-8 over the winter- exactly like Gomez and Revolver(our freinds from down under ) have been reporting this last week- ONYA FELLAS!!

This news is definitely feeding the Mazda fanboi within. :biggthump

It does resemble all the concept cars Mazda showed us as well as the 8 but also it reminds me of an Ashton Martin.

The new Flow concept car looks like a MAzda 6 from the front.

On the new Renesis, if they change the dimensions to deal with the inefficiency of the rotary engine, 1.6L might not be the only working dimension. With 1.6L of displacement I am sure the redline will decrease. How about a 1.35L, 1.4, 1.45L... These might all work. It would be awesome if the new rotary can maintain the same redline of the Renesis.

Man this weekend will be crazy for all of us rotorheads.. I will be on this forum all weekend to read the updates from you guys.

so do you think the kabura is still a separate car or is this an evolution of the kubura?

The big news is not the possible RX-7 that is still a long time away, the big news is THE NEW RX-8 WITH LARGER ENGINE THIS WINTER!!!

separate i think, Kabura will come with 2.0L inline 4 and will be cheap and lightweight.

I think this is a Kabura together with the other desings, as we have seieing with the other cars this is more a desing filosofy than an actual car, so if the Kabura gets built it will be derive from this car as well as a new rx-7( or what ever they call it)

nonono the larger engine is just in the tokyo show car. not in the rx-8, but the 8 does get a facelift this winter

Well it better have enough power to match other new performance vehicles by Toyota/Lexus, Honda (LOL, accord coupe), Nissan, etc. It's ugly too.

This makes me sad / happy.

Need to see more details.. specs, weight.. price!

the front needs some work, but remember how ugly the Yellow prototype rx-8s front was, and how weird the rx-evolve front was?

yeah the rx8 came a long way in just a few short years prior to production. Just fine tuning the appearance.

I think I would prefer the Kabura design alot more, It looks more rotay like than this model does

Like Rotary Crazy said, that front end can be integrated right into the Kabura. Neither front end will make it to production.
