First, thank god they are not showcasing the 8 in this movie.

I hate to say this because i hated the first 2 movies... but this 3rd one actually seems like it might be a good movie. Hopefully its not and i continue to not like FnF. Paul walker, vin diesel, and <insert random rapper> are not in this one. Also, it's directed by the same person who directed "Better Luck Tommorow", which in my opinion was a really good movie.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see... oh and btw, that Z needs more NOS because we all know how beneficial Nitrous is when drifting.

C'mon the first one wasn't that bad compared to the second one. 2f2f was the worst movie ever made besides jaws 3.

Yep, and it'll ruin it for the rest of the enthusiasts out there would just like to enjoy the roads on a nice day without driving like idiots.

unfortunately, this movie will most likely ignite a "drifting frenzy" among the teenybopper and general ricer idiot set.

dd laments...

I dont think the teenage drift frenzy will go too far once they realize how expensive it is to actually drift, and after a few flips over a set of curbs and smashed front ends... i'm sure the craze will come to a crashing halt.
Hopefully

^ Yeah, let's see their faces when they go to price out a set of 'colored smoke' drifting tires. Motortrend used a GTO for a drifting article and I think the 'red smoke' drifting tires they used were several grand.

The drifting tires you speak of are not intended to be offered to the public. I tend to differ in my opinion regarding the FnF franchise because the reason I am now involved in the import scene is the result of those movies. Having much experience with domestic musclecars, I was shown a whole different approach to automotive enthusiasm and I wanted to try something new. That's how I had my eyes open when the RX-8 came out. I don't use either of the FnF movies as documentaries or Bibles and I realize that they are severely lacking in the dialogue-accuracy department but I was motivated to check out the whole scene and that's how I met all of you on this forum. Even further, when I got re-involved in the street scene here in the Detroit area I discovered that the import and domestic crowds carry several prejudices regarding one another and they are both wrong. I find it funny how the import street scene thinks a 12 second 1/4 mile is fast while the domestic scene fails to understand the importance of braking and handling. Not only that, but the domestic guys are only now coming around to the idea that one can take a 250-300 c.i. in-line six and make 700 h.p. with it. If they hadn't isolated themselves from the imports they would have learned that those kinds of numbers have been produced using engines in 2.6-3.0L displacements.

These FnF movies are not really intended to be viewed and scrutinized by those of us who know better. For example, if you tried to pictorially describe the concept of nitorus oxide use to someone who has no clue what it is all about how would you do it? How about the same for the idea of going speeds that are almost triple the speed limit? In those regards I think those movies did a decent job of carrying those experiences to an unknowing public. Often times we think movies such as these are directed toward we enthusiasts, but they are not. As a matter of fact, have any of you had a chance to view those DVD's that are supposedly "real street action scenes"? They are far worse than any mainstream movie I have seen and they amount to nothing more than juvenile hijinks on videotape. When I described the footage on those DVD's to the guys I grew up with it made us wish we had videotaped the stuff we did back then. We could make a mint.

street racing is just stupid.
whether it is in FnF or some home made DVD or in real life... its still stupid.
