Thats the same pic I talked about in an earlier RX-3 post....the pic is in the latest "Motor" Mag down under in OZ, its about the size of a postage stamp!.

I somehow doubt that Mazda will offer a piston engine 2 door coupe (MX-3), as the MX-5 will still be around in 2008, here in OZ you can buy a factory steel removable hardtop to make the MX-5 a coupe.

It wasnt that long ago that the MX-3 V6 (Eunos) was available.

BTW. Mazda Australia has just announced that the Mazda 6 will be sold in Diesel
down under next year.

i went to the survey... the concept mazda in the survey had a 2.0 or 2.3 liter inline 4... producing either 190 or 160 hp... depending on whichever one they choose...

it looks pretty damn hot... 2 door.. 4 seat configuration... passenger side seat folds down into table allowing rear passenger side seat to have a LOT of space... driver side back seat gets jipped and is much smaller than the right side... i couldn't even fit in the left side... its useless.. i would like it more if it was rotary... maybe it will be
who knows...

rumors rumors

anyway... somebody tell me wtf is going on here....

I wonder if anyone can find the "grainy sketch" shown of the car at the Tokyo Auto Show?

That must be the Japanese answer to the Segway. Instead of spending money on computers and gyroscopes for balance, just add a 3rd wheel. Looks more like a motorized wheelchair for those with too much space.

Not sure what that is. Looks like another vehicle for people to lazy to walk, run, or ride a bicycle.

I can understand having a piston and rotary version. Piston version being mid high teens $ and rotary version starting at $20g going to $25g just short of an RX8. I suspect the uniqueness of this car will be more or less a practical inexpensive miata. It will hopefully out handle the Civics and Scions, be focused at the same crowd of younger folk. There may be a good reason to not offering a rotary initially in this car. How many kids (what this car is focused at I assume) can honestly handle a 240hp rwd lightweight car? 175hp rwd would be a good way to get young kids safely into a real sports car platform and away from these hybrid FWD sports econo cars.

So what if their next sports car isn't a rotary, that doesn't mean the rotary engine itself is done for, I would think...

Maybe there will be a next gen RX-7 or RX-8 following up on this so called "piston" car. :P

The rotary will never die!!!
