RotaryNews has been running Linux from the start, SuSe, Slackware, Redhat...

I've been using Linux on the desktop/workstation since '96 (Slackware '96 to be exact).. As my primary OS (no dual boot crap) since 98.

Rotary, linux, and independent thinking go hand and hand :D

I added the Rotarynews and Mazdanews RSS feeds to my daily fix a while back

^^^
Maybe we should try a Knoppix Live CD in the CD player? Then find the .rc file which controls the horsepower...

More generally, unix rocks.

Re: Microsoft owns..everything - common misconception

Not trying to start a Lin/Win argument, but a common misconception is MS dominates everywhere, but 70% of the Internet runs on Apache, which generally runs on *nix. Google runs on Linux. Tivo runs Linux. 300 of the 500 fastest supercomputers run Linux. Server sales are a terrible way to count, because you can download Linux/BSD Unix for free - which at least 90% of users do.
As for running an RX8 on Linux... I plan to install a small laptop where the Nav system would normally go. It will run Linux and use a USB/Firewire connected external DVD/CD drive. This will allow MP3/4/Ogg Music to be downloaded and played , a better GPS system that will speak the directions, plus all the advantages of a laptop in the car. This laptop can only run *nix because I never want a crash anywhere near my car ; )
