You do realize that someone is going to focus on the fact that the RX-8 sales are down from last year and then this is going to turn into what every single other sale figure thread turns into. Then we'll see speculation that the RX-8 is not going to be produced after this year, just like it isn't supposed to be made anymore already according to others predictions and the thread will go on for a year and a half as a result.

wish they gave a "number imported vs number sold" percentage. clearly MNAO isnt improting as many 8s this year as trhe number of 2006s was very small adn the 2007s dont come til a month or so. the percentage sold vs imported would give a more realistic idea of how its selling.
for instance last years number could actually be worse than this years figure if they imported 40 percent more then vs now.

another note, toyota beat out ford for sales and took 2nd place this month. USA today reports 241,826 sales (up 11.7% from july 2005) with ford at 239,989. GM though is above all at 406,298. And yes kia barely meet mazda at 26,429, but we will see who's the victor in august kia!

On a side note the CX-7 looks good but 30k for 5 seats, no freaking way.

It doesn't bother me, I won't be replacing the 8 for at least 7-8 more years, and when that time comes I have no idea what I'll end up with.
