IGN Cars reviews 2005 RX-8
Hope this isn't a repost.

An OK review, but about the 350Z being cheaper ... I don't know . To get a 350 that can compete with the 8, you're gonna need at LEAST the Enthusiasts (spell check) trim IMO.

Yeah, this guy is probably talking out his *** without doing research. Unless the current year's model increased in price a lot, the 350z is still more expensive than a comparably optioned 8.
Edit: Wait a sec, I just checked Edmunds. The Z is now cheaper MSRP-wise. 75 dollars cheaper. -_-;;

I agree, overall a pretty fair review. There are two points I would disagree with. First, he doesn't think the 8 does well on a track (where's the scratching head emoticon when you need it?). All the reports on this forum shows the 8 to be a highly capable track car. The other point is where he says that the back seats would only fit people 5'9" even with someone short in front. Did he even sit in the back?!? I'm 6'2" and I've had 6'+ people sit behind me very comfortably.
But he claims to love the 8 so I guess we have to forgive him.

Since when did gamers become car critics? ... I thought they were all a bunch of Luftwaffles remeniscing about "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, select, start" LOL

Good article, first one that didn't have some dumbassed line that made my blood boil. What did make my blood boil, however, were those ads that kept popping up. The one I hated the most was the ad for that terrible "Supercross" movie that would cover all the text and follow your scrolling. I'd just close the window and start over whenever that beast payed a visit.

I'm wondering though he said the 05's are putting all 240hp to the wheels... wtf?
Was a good review, but the 8 not being a track car says that he may not know how to drive an 8. Given enough turns, the 8 can keep up with an EVO or an STi IMO.

That was a different and fun article to read. Seems like the guy is actually in the market and torn between the RX-8 and EVO. It would be interesting to know which one he ends up with.
The guy is off on a number of facts however, but I'll forgive him. like someone could let him know that the side vents really are functional, since he doesn't think they are and seems bummed about it. And I think his gripes about the seats and head room would go away if he drove the sport pkg instead of the GT.
The RX-8, conversely, is not perfect. It's not the best on the books, but it's still a great car. I'm kinda fickle and the Lancer Evo is like the hot bad-girl that lives just around the block. But I'm in love with the RX-8. Maybe we can work it out.

Thanks for that Cap. Obvious. I was merely pointing out a mistake in the article

They work the same way as they did on the RX-7:
And when your fan comes on, you can feel the air being pushed out of the vents.

They are functional. See this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=891
