Ah, the usual "We are ignorant, but hate the engine because we were told to!"

I love the human race.

That idiot linked to my thread. Bet he didn't even read the first post.

Typical "We don't understand, so lets shun it and call it crap".

I found this to be a better read. NOTE some graphic content.

who cares?
A lot of magazine writers hate the rotary engine, understandably so.
majority of auto journalists likes the RX-8 though, so I'll take majority over minority.

I wonder how an 8 would stand up to a deer.
With the swooped down nose, it would probably have a tendency to gently sweep the deer off its feet (or sweep the feet off of the deer...) and then aim it directly at the windshield.

It would probably have a different impact than the cruiser in teh vid did...

All the misinformed people out there, its really sad and annoying.

They think the RX-8 is full of problems , the Z has problems of its own, feathering of the tires , alignment issues in early 350Z's, not to mention the VQ35 consumes or better for a term uses more oil in two weeks than a rotary would use in a month. I know this for a fact because i owned a 2002 SE MAxima 6 speed and the VQ3.5 is a thirsty beast for oil. No fixes, no recalls from Nissan, notta... that is the way the VQ was designed, yet nobody bitches and complains about those motors. As the saying goes, it was designed "broke".

My interior in my 2005 RX-8 with a glorious 98k miles on her which i brought brand new with 22 miles on her , flooded once because of my own fault(9/10 times its the owners fault) not the car, never had a single problem with my car , yet my interior looks brand new. Too bad I can't say the same for two of my friend's one who owns a 2004 350Z and the other a 2006 Z , both of there seats are starting to fray apart under normal use. And my one buddy with his 2004 Z ,his dash is starting to split , granted the FL sun is no joke , but for a 5 year old cars dash to start splitting is unacceptable! My 15 year old Integra dash with no tint, the dash is in perfect condition and I rarely put armor all on it.

And lets not forget those little bugger MAFS that love to blow out on you for just cause especially in the 2002-2005 350Z. Nissan was quiet about this one , and had a silent recall, the reason why i know about this because i got a letter in the mail stating Nissan needed to change out the A200 MAFS to the upgraded A300 MAFS for the Maxima, Altima and guess what the 350Z! Adding a aftermarket intake makes the $450 MAFS to go out even quicker in these cars. I am yet to read of a RX-8 owner who added a aftermarket intake, unless they over oiled the intake would cause the MAFS to go out. Also the intake manifold sometimes, but its a problem likes to form hair line cracks in it which acts like a gigantic vacume leak.

People swear that the 350Z doesn't have problems, little do they know...

Sorry to be on my soap box, but the 350Z is far from perfect. I love the 370Z but come to find out its suffers from brake issues, over heating problem if pushed to hard, sorry never had that happen in my 8! Other issues too, but the bottom line is that all cars have there faults.

Because the 8 is different , it gets dumped on the worse.

If they think the RX8's engine has problems, they should check out the WRX's.

I think it's a good thing people think the rotary is the worst engine in the world. Means less morons like them are likely to buy it and only those who have half a brain and can read and ask questions to those who know will bother getting an RX8.

Or the lower desirerability will lead to the incredible depreciation and therefore making ways for teenagers to buy them as their first car, and proceed to make them to look 2 fast 2 furious.

Oh wait, it's already happening

TTAC is a site full of archetypal folks who wouldn't like the RX8. Why would you recommend a GTO to someone looking at an RX8?

omfg. That picture is on google. I used that picture once like months ago. Stupid indian montrealer, so ignorant. How can you be a fan of the failing FD with it's millions of engine changes and not the rx8? Seriously, that's really contradictive. He fails to notice that some of the cars he mentioned is out of the rx8's price range, ignorant fool.

He should go look at the 350z forums and go look at their "Who belongs to a new Transmission?". Fail. He failed to notice that a Miata has no back seats, isn't very practical... hmm. One word. TOOL.

My Z never burned a drop or oil...

And as far as the MAF, what about the RX8's starter/battery, tail light assembly, and coil recalls... Every car that is released has its issues that the manufacturers have to work out, there is no exception to this, not even our cars.

If you hate torque, getting pretty good gas mileage, and having better styling, then the RX8 is up your alley. I love my Mazda, but would trade it in for another 350Z in a heartbeat.
