Just a question, I know a few but can people post web address to magazine articles stating the RX8 came in first compared to the other contestants.

I'm very curious to how many magazine articles we can get!

Well, the two majors (Road and Track & Car and Driver) rated it very well against competitors like the 350z, G35, Mustang, etc. Hit their websites and see (and if memory serves, it was one of Road and Track's 10 best)
