At first the writers seem to favor the G35...they go on and on about its exhaust note, styling, and off the line torque. They only really bash its interior. They talk good about the RX-8 also, but bash its exterior saying from some angles it looks "too tall and narrow". I was surprised they picked the RX-8 because of all the praising they gave the G35 ,but they did basically state the RX-8 was more fun to drive,so thats what counts

My buddy has the G35C, and I love the seats and the look outside. The 2 doors really bumped up the insurance though. Dunno why, but then insurance is black magic.

I'm glad to hear that there are others out there who appreciate the way a car handles over just pure hp/torque. Having owned 13 cars (FWD, AWD, RWD) in the past 10 years (including the 3G RX7 and BMW 3 series), the perfect formula is 50/50 wd, RWD, and a smooth engine. But as you can see from sales figures, most people out there just care about hp and torque. I would say that 8 owners know their stuff.

Wait... the RX-8 has a faster ZERO - 40...

I'm just saying since alot of people say its slow of the line... its quicker than G35...

Overall these cars are different buyers... RX-8 is more of a nimble car with performance... G35 is a monster car... big displacement.. and alot of torque...

There both great cars... but RX-8 always outshines them... with its rotary engine... and suberb handling... just imagine what it can do it with MORE POWER...

RX-8 is fast... but it's not that fast... but still outshines them... i thinks mazda did a great job... now add some power... then we have a Master Piece

Yea, I don't quite get that. My first thought was the G had to shift before hitting 40. While that still may explain a lot, what about the 0-20 times. 8-1.3, G-1.4, at 20 the 8 is still very low in the power band IIRC. So what's up with the 0-20 times, does the 8 have more low end torque? No way, does the 8 increase the rpms quicker, very likely. Just another example, that it's all about HP not torque! For anyone that questions this look at Paul Yaw's explanation of torque vrs hp.
