looks good to me, I like how the moved the oil dipstick with the new updated engine. I also like the integrated fog lights, those look really nice.

I like how its a bit more aggressive, I still like my car, but its a nice way to tie the RX8 into the general Mazda design theme without going over the top.

 

The new 8 is changed but still have the similarities of the first gen 8s. Which is a "cool" factor. However I still won't purchase it because the changes are not entirely different. If I was oblivious to the 8, If I saw this revised and the first gen on the highway side by side I would not see a difference.

The two things I really like are the fog lights are below the head light which gives it a symetrical look.

The other thing I really really like is the new driver floor mat.

Time to go the closest dealership and reserve one for myself!!!

 

They look to be the same housings as ours. I wonder what they did for a sidemarker tail light. We have the two leds, but they look to be removed from those shots. I hope they didn't cheese out and use an incandescent for it.

I like it overall. I'm not completly sold on the taillights, but they will probably grow on me and I bet those twin circles look fantastic at night. The inteior is nice overall, but the gauges look empty now, that steering wheel would take getting used to and the buttons to set the clock look like an afterthought.

The headlights also look like they have a side illumination bulb for when the blinker is turned on.

I like the rotory shaped seat recline too, but it's only on the drivers seat.

 

Is it true we won't get this until next Jan. '09?

 

As was said before, the headlights and sidemarkers are different, so it wouldn't...




The funny thing about the interior of the new 8, is that the biggest complaint about the old one was the center dash with the red LED looking display. I read reviews comparing it to something out of the 80's. The new one looks to retain the display.



There are 2008's on the dealer lots now. So this face lift won't be around till 2009 model - and car models don't come out in the same calendar year... I'd expect you can buy it later in 2008.

I really doubt anyone but us will notice much of a difference between the current one and the face-liftted one.

I like the Recaro's if not the color and the rims but that's about it.

 

In the darker colors it looks damn good, but I still like the lines of the older version in the WWP... but that could just be because I'm extremely partial to my car.


... and I agree that it just looks like a mean body kit as opposed to a facelift.

 

I think it looks nice overall....I wonder about the engine improvements.......

A/C piping running behind the front strut bar is now isolated
Brake fluid tank and windshield whasher tank location swap (it might be just because it is the right hand drive version?)
Bigger air intake to oil radiators

Yawn. The current MS kit look much better IMO. Bring on the RX-7 replacement...

 

The new front end reminds of the Audi R8 and there's nothing wrong with that! Overall, it's a nice revision that was due at least a year ago, but regardless a solid effort by Mazda.

 

Has the new front grille real holes open?

I wonder because the holes near the borders look clearly closed but now compare those with the ones closer to the middle. Can anyone highlight that with Photoshop?

It that is true, then the engine bay and water+A/C radiators will be better ventilated.

looks like we get a variable redline gauge ala BMW M3 from the looks of the instrument panel, which is cool.

 

If they sell those seats in all black with heaters that can be placed in a 2004, they are so mine.

I am not liking the steering wheel sourced out of the MX-5.

I am not feeling the new wheels.

I like that it comes with clear corners....but it's in the wrong place.

I like the slight changes to the gauges.

I like the cool red stitching.

And, I like the seats.

But, in general, I don't like this face lift at all. I doubt the Mazdaspeed kit would fit on it because of the headlights and where the side marker is located...Oh well.

I think it looks fantastic!

 

It will probably be a lot cheaper to get aftermarket Recaros than to by them from Mazda. The seat rails may be different enough to make installation easier.

 

The picture is not of a U.S. spec car. By law a U.S. spec car will not have clear corners.

I'll probably get the tail-lights, maybe the side skirts, maybe the rear bumper depending on pricing...

Overall opinion: meh..

 

Probably looking at 2-3k though if not more.

I kinda like my Skinka seats although the bostering on the Recaro's is nice.
