Facelifted RX8 revealed!!!!
Hmm. Interesting.
Like mysql said, I like how this doesn't make the current 8 look outdated. Smart move by Mazda. Spark the interest.
The front bumper joins the class of the Audi and Sky bumpers...I can't tell if I like it. Being objective as possible, I'll probably be in envy of the new fog lights. The grill is wider, making the front bumper look much lighter, which in turn gives it an aggressive look, but the lines don't flow as well and in person it may be just too busy.
I would definitely go with an aftermarket bumper instead, like the autobahn or mazdaspeed. Much more serene.
Lovin' the rear though. The rear of the current 8 had plenty of room for improvement.

The bumper looks better but it seems the trunk lid is smaller, therefore making the opening even smaller. The current trunk opening is small enough (I can't always get luggage to go through, even though it definitely would fit inside).
Seats look nice, but not digging the steering wheel. Center console is too americanized. Moving redline sounds neat.
Nice facelift, but if I had to decide between going aftermarket on the current 8 or trading in, I'd go aftermarket.
And we get to keep the fender vents =D

Now that you've put the rear pictures together, the facelifted rear looks so high up the ground!
Hmm yeah you're right. That's way too high. What I like about the current rear is the plastic surrounding the exhaust. I thought that was rare characteristic that was nice having, imo. Didn't expect them not to retain it.
And I don't think Mazda has learned how much of a joke the stock exhaust tips are.

I doubt the aux jack would be in the ashtray area or in the center console with the power port. The newer Mazda3's and the Mazdaspeed3 have them hidden in the elbow rest, bottom compartment. My guess would be that it would be the same for the new 8.
It's amazing how many posts this has gotten already.
I was merely joking. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

Can't say I am fond of the chrome under the fog lights. Or the additional height the car gains from the 19 inch wheels.
But overall I like it.
Now hopefully they'll keep up with the competition and seriously increase the HP. Otherwise, how can they ask customers to pay 30k MSRP for a car with 230hp, when there are Ford Fusions with the same HP.

lol, thats actually really cool how they integrated the rotor accents into the rims. a smart way, than having it here and there.
didn't notice that!
I give a thumbs up for whoever designed those rims

Not a huge fan of the redesign but it still looks good. I am positively in love with those Recaro seats. I would drop a pretty dime on them if they are available.
I don't like the steering wheel, it looks like it's pulled from a CX-7.
The new instruments look good, tho, as does the new radio faceplate controls and such.
Not digging the new taillights or the fender vents that look "fake"

I like the new seats if only for the fact that I the lack of the rotary accent means it'll be much more comfortable to sleep in. The current seat's accent puts hard plastic right where my head is when I try to sleep in it.
