"Day By Day" review of 2009 R3
http://www.canadiandriver.com/ctc/bl...-mazda-rx8.htm
The writer has a personal history with the 8. There will be three more installments after today's (Wednesday's) Day 1.
As usual, the comments range from the sublime to the reeeeeediculous. (The writer's handle in the discussion is "wing").

cool article to read...
side note: why are there so many a$$hat's out there when it comes to our cars?
I need to just read the article and ignore the posts on websites when it comes to our cars.

Anyone have a link to the one poster's reference to "October Car and Driver: 214 RX-8s are being crushed that were in a ship that tilted onto it's side" ???
...makes my heart bleed to think about it.

I know this is irrelevant but I couldn't help but notice the "tape measure" comment on the other article

waaaaahhhhhhh, those poor mazdas, i bet the guys who built them
were chuffed!
some of those cars looked perfect, the mazda 3 saloon they set the airbags off, looked fine.
i understand that the marine insurance company would have to cover the loss,
and mazda couldn't use anything as they no longer 'owned' the cars. but in this age of recycling, they could (insurance company) have auctioned off cars that had minimal or no damage.
i've seen worse at car auctions, if they were worried about image/safety lol.
i wonder if the shredded steel went back to making more mazdas lol.

Thanks for the link.
I noticed that the author returned his original RX-8 due to the discrepancy with the advertised power. Was that really such a big deal? I mean, if you drove the car and thought that it had adequate oomph, why would you suddenly decide to dump it just because the actual power wasn't what was claimed?
Oh, and the R3 does look really nice in black, doesn't it?
