Charles and Jeff are also mentioned in the book "Street Rotary" I am currently reading. It was nice to see them recognized.

They mention clutch and ignition problems and state that BHR is the answer to all their dreams!

Seems they won't be turboing, since they also mention a Racing Beat header and exhaust......

Everyone,

First, I cannot express how excited we all are here at Black Halo Racing for the opportunity to be part of the Modified Magazine's RX8 project and the ability to demonstrate the capability of the performance advances we have brought to the RX8. We have prided ourselves in helping to improve the experience RX8 owners have with their cars.

That being said, we need your help.

If you enjoyed the article please do two things:

First, purchase an issue of the magazine. Modified Magazine like any company produces content for the purpose of generating a profit. One of the best ways to ensure that Black Halo Racing will be able to contribute to future issues of Modified is if the magazine is able to see clear proof that doing so increases their readership circulation.

Second, please take the time to write an email to their editors expressing what you thought about the article and if you have positive comments please convey them. When the editors know that BHR is able to contribute information and content that generates interest it will help to ensure this is one of many articles we will be a part of.

Don't forget to give props to Dave Pratte for doing the leg work and producing the article as well!

I'm sure I could make one but with as long winded as I am it would probably just end up in the circular file.

Point in case.

Crap, does this fall into "touching dicks"?

I wish he could have a larger article.

I dont like his advertisment of engine problems

From an rotory ignorant readers stand point, his article come off like the stero typical rx8 slow with failing motors. I wish he could have picked up a good running 8, his next article is gonna be a replacment motor I bet.

LOL Fazda, unfortunately you may not be far off. I may in fact change out the engine this winter, if I can't track down the source of the high rpm power loss. But the truth is, lots of used '04 and '05 RX-8s have the same problems mine has, so I'm hoping that by documenting my struggles it'll help readers understand how to fix them should they pick up an 8 of their own. These cars are so much fun to drive and they've become so affordable that even if you have to fix some problems, it's still a serious performance bargain in my books. Sorry if I came across as being negative about the car in any way, because I really do love driving it and it gets a surprising amount of attention from people on the road. I had a woman (cougar and possible MILF) in a minivan pull up next to me at a stoplight yesterday who rolled down her window to tell me her kids (in the back seat) love my car. LOL. Some future Modified readers right there! No cougar love connection though :p

Anyway guys, thanks for the kind words and many thanks to BHR for their support.

09Factor, I'll make sure to clean the engine bay for you next time. Heh. What can I say, I'm an all-go no-show kind of guy. Photogeek edit: here's a pic where I actually washed the car before taking it! Engine bay is still filthy though

Having an objective look at the car is never a bad thing. The difference is the challenges facing the RX8 have been well documented and well explored to the extent that new owners have a guide on what upgrades and parts will ensure they enjoy their RX8 for years to come.

I know Black Halo Racing is looking forward to continuing to provide any insight and assistance to Dave necessary to make sure the RX8 is well represented.

Congrats to the BHR guys for getting featured prominently in the mag. And thanks Modified for giving the 8 a little love, I actually bought a years subscription based on the fact that you guys are building one! Keep sippin' the Kool-Aid!

Yup yup, going to do that early next week before we invest any time/effort into tuning the AP. Will post the compression results up in my thread.
