excellent read, and those 40th anniv. wheels don't look that bad like some people claim...

It is a good read. Should be "must reading" for anyone who doesn't understand the advantages of the rotary engine—something many here don't seem to get… ("maybe Mazda will drop the rotary and stick a V6 in there", "what's the point of a small engine if it guzzles gas?", and so on and so on… )

That color looks very nice. Much like lazi's custom color. Wheels don't look too bad either.

New wheels? Wow. I never thought Mazda would put anything but the typical 5 spoke on the RX-8.....

Looks similar to the galaxy grey........maybe a couple shades darker, but not a huge difference IMO. Still, a nice color.

Yes and no. I DO like that color. I did want a color that dark when I bought my car. Would I trade in my Ti for it? No. I'd take an absolute bath if I did. These cars don't hold their value nearly as well as I had hoped. Furthermore, I wouldn't trade the 8 in for another 8 unless it had some kind of marked performance increase.

Mine will most likely be paid off by this time next year though and that's when I'll buy a new car and start turning the 8 into something a bit more potent.

Not a fan of the wheels, they look like what was on the Neon. I'd rather have medium mesh wheels, like the RX-7 Spirit R.

Combination of "wine country romp" and "delightful read" reinforces the thread describing RX-8 as top car amongst the gay population.

nice read.
I've driven up to Wine country a few times in my 8 and it's a BLAST to hit those twisties.

That was a good article. About time somebody said some really good things about the RX-8.

"But one thing's for sure: No other sporting car on the planet sounds and feels anything like any Mazda Wankel-powered vehicle." MT

The wheels are OK, but those "special" badges are lacking. Hopefully, they can be easily removed.
