As for the video--can't do it now. His cobra is in the shop. For some reason (he knows, but I just forgot why), 2nd, 4th, and reverse only work half the time. It's like trying to shift into a brick wall. So... yeah. That car has been beaten its whole life. Too bad, I really like the car too. Nice sound.

I don't know why everyone is attacking me. I just asked a simple question. For the record, I will say that 99% of the time, mustangs will kick an 8's ***. But it just so happens that I can beat 1 individual cobra. I don't speak for anyone else, and neither does my friend. This is just how it is. Sorry.

 

To be honest I don't doubt your claim I just think that there are some facts missing. I believe that you can probably beat his Cobra but only if it's not in it's mechanical prime. Our 8 would not stand a chance against a healthy 1995 Cobra and that's a fact (minus driver error). Don't you agree?

The Problem isn't your question - its your insistence that we're all crappy drivers if our particular RX8s would NOT make up a two second deficit in the 1/8th mile, to catch a Mustang by the 1/4 mile mark.

 

No, no one on this forum knows how to drive as well as you can apparently. This whole time all those people who actually race, track, auto-x our cars lack this ability to "drive".

Perhaps you should register on the SVT forums and tell them all about your driving skills. I am sure they will especially be impressed that you can make up a whole 2 seconds in a 1/4 mi to beat a cobra.

I'll post up a vid - if I can find it - of my previous car making up a 2-second deficit in a 1/4 mile race tween a 2000? Civic SI and my old Ford Probe. I wheel hopped so badly, I had to clutch-in. Ended up beating him 15.00 @ 100mph to his 15.7 @ 89? IIRC he was up by 2 seconds to 1/8th mile...or so. But it took my car ALL of it's 100+whp advantage to close the distance.
