I really wish those pictures would get better and we could see the article. It's a little frustrating knowing very very very elementary japanese. I can make out "Big change" and that's it. Otherwise, I would assume that this is pretty promising.

Don't blame me...hehe.
|
Forget the RX-8, anybody know what Nissan that is?

That's prrreetty....looks like a Nissades SLR front end on there.
|
Translated the article from the magazine.
-------------------------------------------------- Best car, the issue on January 26 Debut about five years from the first exterior changes. Changes in the front bumper and headlights and design. January 11, the Tokyo Auto Salon and to be released late. |
^So, what does the 300 between the Rx8's really mean? :squint:
|
^I think Mazda hope for 300hp instead of the 250 for the first rx8 *lol*
Can't wait to see what Mazda shows in January. |
Well now we know of the body changes and interior changes, and that they are testing the 16B or X which ever you want to call it. I am not hearing anything more as of yet.
I was told that they won't mind people looking at the car just no pictures at this time. Not a lot to see as in the "Spy" shots. Dash is covered and all the cladding on the outside. Not to mention they will NOT open the hood. One should be arriving at it's next destination today. And my people are waiting patiently. |
Is that a large black plastic bar on the front like the MS3?
|
Pardon the change in topic but; on that magazine cover, are they saying that Nissan is a 2.0 FR chassis? It's kinda cool.
Paul. |
i think it says, silvia revival determined below
|
The wheels on that 8 look like one from the last gen Altima SE-R.
|
they're the ones that Mazda had on the 40th Anniversary 8 in LA. (or at least they look pretty damn similiar)

I'm not feeling that rear end...:S
|
I thought this is quite nice.
The linear foglamps or whatever u call it looks somewhat like those on the RX7. Look forward to see more pictures! |

I think that's the price of the magazine.

If that's the facelifted RX-8 on the mag., I think they've made the design too fuzzy :squint: .. rear end resembles an older eclipse with RSX-shaped tail lights.. more sleek foglights are nice but was hoping for a vertical one
|
|
I took a look at the tail lights again, and I could definitely notice another round lense in there. You don't see the 2 lines that are usually conncect to the round lense..

Now all they need to do is bring back winning blue, and ill snatch that rear bumper right up (guessing it fits though)

All I can say is ..so far .. much ado about not much of anything. Front 'may' be an improvement, everything else.. meh .. I can take it or leave it. From the rear view above, it's easy to see it really isn't significantly different.
If there aren't 15-20% more mazda 'ponies' (junior version of everyone elses horses) under the hood.... or 2-300lbs weight reduction ... .... what was the point really? :icon_no2: It'll be the same car from the driver's perspective. |
