Not that this is anything new or exciting but i saw a 09 on the freeway way, its was trailing a phantom blue 08. Its had dealer plates. I think this is the first sighting out here? maybe not?

first i have seen, i got an oil change coming up soon so I will find out what the dealer near me has.

 

is it a vw passat? is it an rx-8?

 

often times these things show up in CA first since we're so much closer. I'll call my Mazda guy and see if I can find out when these are showing up

 

My guess is that it's a pre-production car. As most of you know, Mazda headquarters are in Irvine. They will often have engineers and execs drive pre-pros around.

Did you get a look at the front? I think it's good for Mazda to chance it's body style, but it's going to take it a long time to grow on me!

the interior is most likely the brown leather interior. yeah i saw the front and got a picture but it came out bad, so did the front bumper face lift.

no it had all the face lift changes for an 09, i dont remember seeing any badging on the 08 to be an anniversary edition.

I saw that one too just the other day on the 57!!!

 

I don't know what everybody is complaining about, the rear end looks alot cleaner, the lights are more defined, cleaner angles on the lower bumper. The taillights on the one on the left look like they are broken or something. It looks a little less "rice" to me.

 

I agree, I think the car looks great. I dont understand why people are loving the big plastic panel on the sides of the Smart cars, yet they are hating on the small plastic trim pieces on the bumpers of the 09 rx8. IMHO, the car looks great.
