Your RX-8 for everyday or just sports?
 

I'm planning on buying one as my everyday driver, but I was wondering how many of you use yours for everyday driving and how many use it for sports/touring/fun driving?

Just curious...

My RX-8 is my only car.
I drive it everywhere and love it. I don't mind traffic or anything else. As a matter of fact, this car made me enjoy driving again.

I drive a Company Car (Montana Van) during the week -

My RX8 is my evening fun and weekend car!

Everyday driver... unless im running errands on the weekend then I'll use my wife protege :).

Everyday driver to and from work - plus a few long drives on a weekend (when I can keep from doing yardwork).

When u drive 20 miles a week for needs. The other 150 are just for fun. My wife drives an Outback, that's all we gotz!

Daily driver. Shifting in rush hour traffic does get old, though.

Daily driver as well, and I drive a lot too. Just under 15,000 miles in 7 months.

Traffic over an hour, the shifting is anoying, but it's such a minor thing compared to how much I enjoy having to drive all over the place. Big thumbs up.

Oh and it's fun at the autocross as well :D

Daily driver. I couldn't imagine not driving it every day.

everyday car...i couldn't stand not driving it everyday :D

this is my everyday car, it makes the drive not so boring during the commute

My 8 is a fair weather car...If it even looks like rain......she stays inside.. BMW X5 is the daily Mule......

Daily driver - although with the gas prices as high as they are now, I might end up riding my bike around; gaugh, that would be a shame...

Its my wife's daily driver, how hard is that on me? Seriously, I need to haul equipment around and my Suby has racked up 48,000 miles in 30 months in the city of Philadelphia so it is the right choice. She always gets the cooler car, but the WRX wagon is a sleeper and a lot of fun to drive.

I purchased as a commute car but three weeks later my company issued me a 4-Runner so now it is a play car!

It's my daily driver.

My daily driver also. I frankly thought my other two rotaries - a 2gen and a 3gen - would be coming out more often, but the 8 is such a superb all-around car, it's keeping the others sitting in my shop.

Just got mine last week but it is the designated daily driver now.

The truck stays at the house most of the time...

Due to weather seal problems my fiero cannot go out in wet weather...

The MomMobile (minivan) stays with the wife and kid during the day.

Replaced a Crown Vic LX Sport with the 8.

So far love every minute of it.

Wow, looks like an overwhelming amount of everyday drivers. That's a good thing. I feel much better about purchasing one now. Thanks.

The RX8 would be my daily driver as well...and in my case it would be substantially larger/more practical than my current daily driver which has no backseat and a trunk barely large enough to swallow a bag of golf clubs. :)

4902 Miles since July 29th of last year (yes I got one of the first)

Needless to say - not a daily driver. Got a Protege 5 the same day to serve as the daily driver (which my wife now drives). Grand Cherokee gets me from place to place everyday now and the 8 comes out on "good" days and all weekend.

Daily driver...just under 3000 miles in just over 1 Month (I only live 3 miles from work though). Been going for quite a few recreational drives.

daily drive also unless i have to go to a jobsite the 8stays at the office and 98chevy truck goes in the mudd

My precious is a daily driver. I would have just gotten an RX-7 if it couldn't be one and wanted a weekend car. But since it has 4 seats (gotta drive the coworkers to lunch somehow) and is reliable (so far no probs, no floods, nothing) its definitely a daily driver. The only con to daily driving this thing is the gas mileage in the city. But its so dam fun to drive, I don't care. Now my truck is just collecting dust and pollen :)

I'm fortunate enough not to have to drive to work, so I use the 8 mainly on nice evenings and weekends.

Don't have to drive to work? Work at home or withing walking distance? Either way, consider yourself blessed... NJ traffic can be terrible...

Daily driver, but I am a telecommuter most of the time. Rent cars for long business trips.

My 8 is my daily driver. 104 mile round-trip commute. I've had mine 3 months and almost 9000 miles!

She's my daily driver sports car. I rarely take the quickest route to work now, opting for the twisties route instead.

Now I don't mind going to work as much anymore:D

I hear you on that one... I just sold my FC because I've barely started it in the last six months. Sad to see it go but at least I don't have to insure it anymore.

The 8 is my daily driver now - previously it was the FC. It's a better one IMO since it's smoother, faster and probably safter than the FC.

The RX8 is my family car! I got two booster seats in back. People are shocked when they see a car like the 8 and two booster seats back there. So, its my FAMILY sedan!

It's my only car so it's a daily driver...However, I work out of my house so other than daily errons it's mostly driven for fun.

The 8's my fair weather ride. I have the option of driving another car, taking the train, or telecommuting. Not really a choice though if the sky is clear and the sun is out.

Purchased in December, I now have a whopping 1,600 miles.

Daily driver..

Apparently State Farm thinks it's a family sedan too - it's classified on our policy as a "sedan" and I'm only paying a little bit more than I did for my '95 Miata.

Mine's a daily driver too. I actually find the seats and the cabin more comfortable and pleasant to drive in than my wife's Camry. And coming from a Miata, I can't get over the storage space - neither can my wife, who makes me drive to the grocery store these days because we can fit so much in the 8.
