Your MPG?

I searched for this and saw nothing of members MPG in their 8. My camaro gets around 15-16 city and like 23 highway. 90% highway I got 350 miles to a 17 gallon tank. What do YOU get in your 8? I know the advertised MPG.

Hi.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you'll see a frame titled "SIMILAR THREADS"

It may surprise you that others have also been curious about mileage....... About 1,000 threads came up on the keyword 'mileage'.

Oh, by the way,

IBTL.

ugg as much as i hate these mpg threads at least i get to crow about this- my last tank i made 18.03 mpg and i havent driven any highway miles on that tank at all

im pretty proud actually. I had noticed awhile ago my mileage was slipping but i chalked that up to really not watching my shifts and the winter gas. I had a highway trip that was only 21 down from my normal 23-24.xx

then i realized i hadnt cleaned my air filter in a year.

so after the air filter cleaning, still on winter gas, watching my shifts but still no highway time im back up to 18 from a dismal 14 and slightly lower around town for awhile.

Last summer I had a half-tank road trip where I got 27.5 mpg, and drove at 75-80mph most of the way. It remains a freak occurrence so-far.

Typical city mileage is closer to 17mpg. Typical combined mileage is about 20mpg. Typical highway mileage is about 22-23mpg.

'07, 8,700 miles.

Even though I get 13 mpg, I still love the car. Doing 50 around rotaries is so fun, I mean irresponsible

The key is to never look at the cost of a fillup. As Han Solo said, "Never tell me the odds."

During a road trip, I filled the tank and calculated mpg. My passenger asked how much the gas cost. He was really amused when I explained that I NEVER look at the dollars part of the receipt, just the gallons.

I actually dont even care about how much it costs to fill up. I enjoy driving the car that much. Im sure that will change once gas prices spike up to an all time high in the summer lol.

How about this thread:

It's even a "Sticky", has about 35,000 views and over 650 replies...

Cumulative Gas Mileage (Gas MPG) Thread: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/cumulative-gas-mileage-gas-mpg-thread-61139/

Why do we need so many threads with the same content? No wonder nobody searches....

I get under 200 miles per tank. I have replaced spark plugs and wires and next will be the coils(once it gets decent out). I will let you know if I see any change in MPG. You can also adapt the UPS driving skills to save gas. Map out your driving route and eliminate Left turns. By doing so, you will have much less idle time and better mpg

I've been getting about 20-21 mpg consistently. Best is 26 with highway driving (~70mph) and worst is 16 with mostly 1 mile stop and go trips.

Isn't it amazing how my 1992 Nissan manages to get 9mpg city driving and 13 highway. Speaking of inefficiency of engines.....and this one has technically nothing wrong with it either. It's not my driving habit either >< Since i get high 20s on my mum's corolla
