Oh BTW, he is a Forest Preserve cop with the same authority as an Illinois State cop.

I can't believe that... :Eyecrazy:

So did anyone else get a ticket? I'm glad I couldn't make it to the BBQ then because with my luck he would have given me 6 tickets just like the OP.

I would doubt it. NC law is pretty permissive; it allows 32 all-around, except for the windshield. See this: STATE WINDOW TINTING RULES & LAWS CHART

You may have been lucky to get so many tickets, especially if they were badly scrawled - One or two tickets the Judge knows you probably did something, three or four tickets, he begins to suspect something odd, five or six tickets there better be clear evidence because something seems to be going wrong at the officers end... The judge may be more willing to drop them all, especially if you have the paperwork to show you have proper I.D. and insurance paid, and with proper dates, on them. Priors will count against you.

When a roommate of mine broke up with her Security Police boyfriend on a military base, he stopped me and gave me a couple of tickets - feeling they were undeserved but knowing they could hurt my career - I urged him to give me more! He was silly enough to fall for it. I then took the 18 tickets to our military court and suggested on the basis of excessive ticketing, perhaps something was not right with the system. My roommate also testified on my behalf and our unhappy security officer was made even more unhappy when all tickets were thrown out and he was told that any more of this would harm his career... you may be in a similar position because of the unusually high number of tickets - you might suggest this to your lawyer...
