AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why after an RX-8 has been owned, loved and driven by its original owner, Mazda should just buy it back from us and then crush it!

Then just take it to the dealer, and let mommy and daddy pay the bill.

And get someone to read the owner's manual to you.

Actually, I'm impressed. Not by "Rena," but by what this guy has been doing.

In previous threads, he's talked about practicing rev matching with the engine off, and worried about the gas tank in his car exploding if he parks in the sun. And he sucked a lot of us in.

Gotta give him credit. I have not seen successful trolling like this for a long time.

Now watch...if he replies, it's going to be with a hurt "What are you talking about."

We are in the presence of a master.

Or he could just get a nice one that has the stick in the back, put it on the valve, stick blows out, remove, read, push stick in, repeat.

Taking a car to a dealer to get the tire pressure read?

If you don't care about maintnance you shouldn't own this car.
^I say that ignoring the fact that I have been puting off my oil change a little too long this time around. 3 day weekend FTW!

Not ignored. Cherished. I think he should be admired, and held as an example to the feebs. The ones who post "I'm thinking of getting an 8, but I hear that they guzzle oil, blow engines every hundred miles, and engage in satanic sacrifices of small children."

Instead of rebutting them or uttering the counterspell "Search, noob," we should just reply "Lame. You're no dothackRAVE."

I think you people misunderstand. I DIDN'T give a damn (note, past tense, not present). Rena gets the best maintenance that can be given, and its almost an obsession these days for me. If she doesn't get any maintenance, I wouldn't be asking you people questions anyway.

Done already. $0.

And get someone to read the owner's manual to you.

Ken
The owner's manual has been read by me. I didn't recall anything about a yellow exclamation mark, and I didn't see anything when I skimmed it again. Maybe I missed it.

I don't think you heard me. Gauges were sold in gas stations in Malaysia (my home). I am currently in the USA, and I have NOT seen them sold in gas stations here.

Actually, WTFux guys...

I read the posts again, and I noticed some have realized I'm trolling.

Dammit. What gave it away?

mmkay, I'll stop trolling now, here's some real facts about me and Rena:

Rena is the car. A Titanium Grey 2005 Mazda RX8 MT. It's got a MazdaSpeed exhaust, and clear corners. You hear Rena before you see it. I never turn on the stereo, and keep a small opened gap in the windows to hear the purr of the engine. After hearing it so many times, that purr still gives me the chills.

I love Rena, just a little less than real people. She a good friend, sort of. I started talking to her when I was still learning the intricacies of manual transmission (on Rena). I'd apologize to her every time I stalled or bunny hopped. I no longer apologize..., because I've not stalled or hopped in some time. Rena IS my first car. I like looking out the window at her, and I worry over the most nonsensical things (where did you think the exploding gas tank and "engine off rev-match damage" came from?). I have started getting rev-matching down, and later on I'll try learning how to double clutch.

Yes, those of you who replied in fury got suckered in. Now, I expect to be revered, like the following chap:

Ken
Also, congrats to the chap who realized Rena was named after the Renesis. I am currently searching for a way to change the engine cover's words from "Renesis: Multi-Side Port" to "Rena".

CORRECTION EDIT: Rena is my first manual transmission rear-wheel drive powerhouse. My first manual transmission was a small front wheel drive Japanese kei car from Daihatsu, so I've already been through the "rust bucket" phase.

Rena is NOT going to be sold. She's staying with me until she's driven into the ground. Even when my kids come along, Rena will stay. I know almost every inch of her body, save her engine bay, which I'm still looking at and trying to figure out. Her engine bay's her private corner. I won't know what it is like for a while, just as you don't just lift skirts off women you just met.

You just did it too many times under the same name. Your latest was fun, but reached the point of "Man, nobody is this stupid and/or spoiled." I saw your post count was more than 3 or 4. So I checked your profile, and looked for your other threads. The MO was there.

Now you know why con men change their identities.

I love Rena, just a little less than real people.
I feel the same way about Zoomy. He saved me from driving a Volvo into middle age.

I have started getting rev-matching down, and later on I'll try learning how to double clutch.
See if you can find "The Technique of Motor Racing," by Piero Taruffi. (Might have mis-spelled his name) in your local library. Grand Prix driver about half a century ago. Also an engineer, which was very unusual for drivers in those days. Excellent description of double clutching. He calls it double de-clutching, which is more accurate. He describes how to watch the tach to figure the right rpms. You'll eventually do it by ear, but IMHO his analysis is great for learning.

Driving techniques in that book are also great. Not for actual modern racing, but as things to know for spirited driving on the street they are appropriate.

He WAS a troll. But he's redeemed himself.

a) He confessed.

b) He proclaimed undying love and deep respect for his 8. He never turns on the radio, lest it mask the sound of the engine.

He is now one of us.

Am I the only one who thinks that constantly referring to your car by a name is a bit lame?
