yay new owner
Just got my rx8 about 2 weeks ago and I've been reading the forums quite thoroughly. It's an 06 6MT with 84k miles on it, well maintained, with all original documentation, records of service, and even the original window sticker! I've only noticed one problem (squeaky clutch pedal with occasional "click") which I plan on servicing at mazda under the extended warranty provided through the nhtsa investigation results of the faulty clutch pedal assembly.
Other than that, the upgrades are on the way. My progress will start with the black halo racing ignition upgrade, followed by an agency power mid pipe and catback (I know, it'll be loud but I'm ok with that) and a cobb accessport with custom calibration by MM. After that I'll probably go with some coilovers and thicker sway bars...eventually I may even go with an esmeril turbo kit...but that won't be for a very, very long time.
I've had a few cars before this one (93 3000gt nonturbo, 97 camaro z28, 90 talon tsi 250whp, 06 tiburon v6 300whp supercharged, 08 350z, 88 mustang gt 400whp on spray and heads, 91 turbo integra never dynod, 07 honda fit low riding fun car, AAAAAAAAAND an 88 crx si all bone stock original for those who care lol) all work was done to these cars in my front yard with a few good friends and some beers and I plan on the rx8 being the same way.
Once I get some decent pics of my car I'll post them up, but just wanted to say hi and I'm excited to finally go piston-free!

well...for now here's some pics of my other cars I guess since I don't have any of the 8 yet.
We can start with the fit because I definitely had the most fun with it (really off the wall mods lol)
first pic with my fake wheels lol
thennnn I started to go a little crazy...and painted my hood with chalkboard paint from home depot.
and a side view

then my boosted teggy...another little project I had.
and...uh...my dog. lol

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club! Sounds like you've got things figured out pretty well. Have fun with the 8, and let's see some pics! Nice other pics too btw, I like the Z.

I wonder what it's like to drive an 8 down in florida.... Soon... like 14 months soon lol.
EDIT: BTW, i always loved the Tibby's and came very close to buying one and going the same set up. You wouldnt happen to have a sound video or an acceleration video of your car would u?

Actually, I do! lol...a 45-105mph pull...uh...on a closed highway...in mexico

thanks guys, yea I really miss that tibby. I was actually considering getting another one to work on so I can have a project car that isn't my daily in case something breaks...
