Im sorry, not to sount noobish but I am a lil confused.
If Xenon's are the ones with the blueish hue that are more powerful, then whats the difference between Xenon's & HID's?

 

They are used as two interchangeable terms. HIDs is the umbella category for various lights that use arc technology. Xenons fall within that category. But in the public, they are used to essentially refer to the blueish white headlights.

Hi guys,

I have a quick question:

I have an RX8 2006 GT.

I have xenon lights on my car (they came standard).

However, I have no normal halogen lights on my car.

THe reason why I think this is weird is that my old car (Acura RSX) had halogen lights, which were the "daytime lights" that came on automatically (even when I didn't turn on the lights).

My Rx8, on the other hand, has absolutely no lights on, if I have not turned on the light switch. I also noticed that I have no halogen lights for this car, only xenon.

Is every rx8 like this?

yeah you do have halogen lights on your car.

your high beam headlights are halogen, as well as your fog lights

not every car out there comes equipped with daytime running lights

mazda cars do not have daytime running lights AFAIK.

technically, all daytime running light is, is an additional circuitry that automatically turns on the high beam headlights at HALF POWER than when turned on manually.

so yeah, that's why, but you do have halogen headlights, they're just only on high beams.
