WTF 280 miles and CEL already?
It might be from the gas cap. It was kinda loose. I tightened it and have restarted the car a few times already and still get the CEL. Do I need to do something to reset it? Do you guys think it's something else?

1935 lbs. FTW!
If it's the gas cap being loose and you tightned it then it will go away after a while. You need to turn the car off/start it a certain number of times. If it's still on in a while then take it to a dealer or someone with a CAN scan obd2 reader and get the code pulled to see what the cause is.

You also try to disconnect your batt and then reconnect it, the CEL will go away if it was the gas cap. If it was something else it'll come back on.
Also what kinda gas do you use?

Ya the gas cap is weird. I checked it a few times now def clicked a few times and is on there real good now. I put in premium 93 octane gas. Drove like another 25 miles and still the CEL.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the car is brand new with under 300 miles on it? DTCs can be caused by many things, some serious. Absolutely take it to the dealer. The most straightforward thing that anyone could and should do is to check the gas cap. Avoid other home remedies and remember it's not as important to get the light off as it is to find it's cause.

yeah unless your dealer is a bunch of crooks like mine who want $90 everytime there is a cel as a diag fee. it's always that and I always have to call mazda and have them tell the dealer to f off.

If your car is almost brand new and under full warranty and your dealer charge you $90 to diagnose what the error code means, it's time to call your trial lawyer. That's the only way to deal with crooks.
