Just got my 04 back from the dealer with the new plugs, starter, battery and re-flash and gotta say, it's a completely different car. Starts like a jet, idles much smoother, and seems to be much quicker than before. Although it's probably too early to tell yet, it sure seems like the gas gauge is moving a lot slower than normal. I am definitely one happy camper....

 

This is ture . I'm know getting about 19.5 mpg and I must say the the mid range power is much stronger .

Maybe that it's faster but you don't think it's possible it's idling smoother or starting up easier?

Starting up easier for sure. Idling smoother too, but increase in mpg or performance....meh maybe a tad.

Yes with the new battery and starter, it is idling smoother and starts up so quick. i was more referring to the 'more power' feeling.

 

More power comes from re-setting the flash. It will go back to normal soon.

 

My power and mileage appear down but can't say with any certainty on the power side. Mileage will tell in time.

You have to spool up the engine to 18% rpm, Engauge the ignition, Start fuel pump and when engine rpm stabalizes kill the starter, all while monitoring the EGT for a hot start?

You need to take that crap back that cant be normal!

 

i hv one question, if u moded the rx8 intake and igition system, will they void the recall for ur car?

 

I also had all of the same things done to my car at the dealer 2 weeks ago and I have also realized that the gas needle is moving slower. Maybe not much but its noticable. I'll take anything I can get.
As far as power goes, can't say much for that.
But I'm happy all and all after the work.

 

I'm pretty sure I have better mileage..... (not scientific. Just my wallet guage)...
