Congratulations on the new 8.

Wait for the 1,001 mile mark for the 9k rev. 6k is sweet, 7k is awesome. cherish those for a couple of weeks.

I don't get this 9K rev thing, I know it's bad for the rotary on a non-broken in car.... but you don't think the dealers or if someone test drives it before you buy rev's it to 9k? I just think hittin the redline a few times before it's broken in can't be too bad of a thing. I know I did it on the 2 8's I test drove!

i am sure it is fine for the rx8 to get hit a little on test drives and such. people want to see what it can do, and if the rotary cant handle a few powerfull test drives than there are bigger problems. I got on my car 2 or 3 times before 600 miles.

Pele....

It's not bad for the car the odd time. However....when you pay 30k+ for a car you want to do the right thing. Most of us are proud and protective of our car's. Because of this we baby it for a while. Once you hit that magic 1k mark....it's open season!! It's a psychological thing!!!
