Wondering if you guys could help.
I already posted this in the "Parts for Sale"
My friend basically sucked up water into his engine, the only mod he has is an AEM intake. He wanted to buy the entire Intake system from someone or trade, but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
So can anyone here tell me so I can tell him, what parts he needs for the intake? He said he might have thrown out the entire OEM intake system when he installed the AEM. So if anyone is knowledgeable in what he needs to make it back to an OEM intake, i'd appreciate it, cause i don't know much about it.

I'm guessing that if his engine isn't responding, and he actually did manage to suck a good amount of water up there, a new intake may be the least of his problems. I've read on the forums about the difficulty, or maybe impossibility of hydrolocking the engine, but getting water in there doesn't sound healthy.
And as far as getting the OEM intake back, I'm sure there are forum members here who have their stock parts and would sell them. Keep checking the for sale forum. Good luck to your friend.

well it depends mostly on "how much" water he actually sucked up. If he got the filter wet and it caused a lot of bogging and irregular idling and what not it will be fine the engine will just cause the excess water to turn to steam its basically a waiting process. now it he sat in a 2-3 foot puddle and started the car well then id get a new engine. or car for that matter
