Wish me luck! (Engine replacement)

I purchased my Rx8 back in january from craigslist where i was ripped off only getting to drive the car for a day before the engine blew out. Anyways, 4 months later and ive finally managed to scrape up a little over 4,000 dollars to get my mechanic to put in a rebuilt engine from the mazda dealership. Thanks for all your guys help! Just thought I should share my good news with someone

What is the engine cost itself? I would imagine you could have a better engine than a dealer reman for that money. Have you already paid?

Engine is gonna be 2.8k, and labor will be 1.5k. It also includes a one year warranty.

Hmm, dealer remans are such poor quality. Your engine cost isn't much lower than a hand built one from a reputable vendor. You even have Pettit there in FL that might be able to beat that price.

I personally wouldn't pay a dime of my own money for a dealer reman. If you haven't paid yet, I recommend contacting a few places, Pettit being one since they are local-ish. The rest aren't.

Not really good news when you have to put in $4000 to a car that you just bought and the engine blew the next day. Anyway, good luck with the new reman in...

There's really nothing else to say about the subject.

I vote close thread.
