Why RX8 with US spec. doesn't have climat-control option?

Hi from freezing Moscow!

Somebody can help me at least to know, why RX8 in US doesn't have climat control package option?
In Europe and Russia this spec is a common thing. Otherwise, Europe spec has not for example cruise-control.

http://www.mazda.ru/Showroom/RX-8/Specs/
Prices really impressive here?

Anybody can help by advise, may I install climat control myself?

Contact Paul from Mazmart and see if he has any housings. I got a great deal on one...no blemishes at all (unlike the ebay ones you find randomly). He's one of rx8clubs vendors, and a great guy to deal with.

Unhappy all expensive here

Yes, you right, see reference above, 45 US kilo for 5MT, far away of GT option of US spec. That is why I bought it from US market.

I have a discussion at Audio-Interior etc. forum, you can see the price for tuner there to order here and for yours. I'd like to change it because of yours tuners has only odd frequencies.

I even ordered spark plugs from sparkplugs.com, it cost here to order about 60-70$ per one, from your market is 20-25(+delivery).

Dual Climate control on the US spec would be REALLY nice! I'm assuming things like that, memory seats, guages, etc might have been excluded to keep the price of the Gen 1 RX-8 relatively low.
Maybe we'll see it on the next generation 8 or the MS if it ever comes out.

-It's kind of like what they did for the Mazda 6. I was thinking of getting one when they came out until I found out I couldn't get HID or Nav but they were available on the Mazda 3. WTF?! Now they're on the MS6. Go figure...

I dont think it will be a good idea, the hot cabin temperature on the RX-8 is going to cause havoc on the system.

The best HVAC system on the Volvo is still the best.

Agreed with above the hot cabin may cause problems. Check with other Europeans.

Man you need a friend in the US. Then have them ship it to you.

Has to be much cheaper than $70 from spark plugs.com

Maybe I'm wrong, but $45 to ship spark plugs including insurance!

P.S. Welcome to the world wide 8 club.

Yes a have a friend in US, but its business relation, I don't want to bother anybody with my constant wishes!

I just ordered 6CD changer to buy for me on EBAY, the russian citizens can't do that, we are not PayPal registered !

sorry for my bad English, I meant sparklugs.com selling as you say -45$ or so, that is just I did! !ts domestic prices-60-70$, so economy is about 80$ per kit!

Why Hot cabin may cause problems?
There are two wersions RX8 sells here, both with climate control.
But without cruise -control.
! can't understand, why US citizens likes(as Mazda think) cruise-control option, but Europeans doesn't. and vice-versa with climate?

I read somewhere that cruise control is against the law in some countries in Europe.

Question

What kind of law? Against what? Against right to be in constant comfort when you drive?
And if it is, it must be US law , because RX8 from US market doesn't have climat control! Almost all Europeans RXs has it even in economic version!

Anybody knows?

just get rx7 plugs. change them every 10,000 miles and you are golden. <$5 each and I'll bet you can get them locally.

Thank you!

I was wrong with year, couldn't imagine that RX7 is 1995 as the newest. I feel I will change sparks every 5000km or so, because of poor quality of petrol here. So its actual question for me.

He means P = platinum metal tip.

No good to abbreviate when people don't know English like you and I.
