Why have an on/off button for cruise control?

That makes sense.

On the civil aviation side, we all know that electronic devices must be off for the first ten minutes after takeoff and the last ten before landing. Cruise control on the 8 is electronic. Needs a switch!

As a SR IT person, I have to do things everyday to protect people from themselves. No doubt same thing here.
