Why everyone should do this to their rx-8 thread
I think it looks ok on the yellow cars only. It's nice, just not the best idea in the world for legal reasons..like sombody said-you get hit at night in the front, its your fault.. boo

While I agree with everyone here that it's a pretty risky and dangerous thing to do for saftey/legal reasons, I'll admit that I really like the way it looks. Compliments the rims very nicely and strengthens the color scheme of your car.
Looks good...
...but maybe not a good idea...

as long as orange reflects when you hit it with a light, its legal. i have mine tinted pretty dark. mebbe 20%? but it readily reflects orange when a light hits it.
but it looks waaaaay better than stock or clears. especially with tinted windows.

So you are saying that when you turn on the signal it shows amber?
I like it because it matches the black wheels. Looks sharp.
But if you get in an accident you can be held 100% accountable due to the corner marker.
I try not to attract attention. I hate tickets. Don't give them a reason to pull you over.

yeah, its just like tinting your front or rear lights. the light still shows through. but the random light from the atmosphere wont be enough for it to reflect orange unless you are at the absolute correct angle for the sunlight to reflect it. but if you take any sort of directed light, even a flashlight, it glows orange. headlights definitely make it reflect orange.
and this is without the light even being on.
i also just have the vinyl overlay. which is really easy to apply on the corners since they are so flat. no wrinkles.

it might not be a chip, he probably would have touched that up. it could be a wet leaf.
you're car looks nice, but you should try it deedub. it ties side lights in with the rims and the cf hood.
and if you dont like it.. you peel it off and you are out what.. like $10.

You blacked-out a set of clears? It looks like the outside surface was painted.
The contour of the amber lens would be better for blacking-out, IMO. Mimics the fender contour- a better route if you're going to turn a functioning light into a mere graphic. My 2 cents.
