Who is the youngest person here to buy an RX-8?
#26
I bought a new 2002 RXS Type-S in 2002 when i was 21, but I do not think that counts. I bought the RX-8 a month ago, and I am 24 -- but I also own a 3000GT VR4 and I pay for my wife's Acura 3.2 TL. If I did not have to pay for both cars I probably would have looked into the Lotus Elise. My wife only has around 2 more years of school left before we can enter the wonderfull world that is the two income family .
The good thing is that both car payments (($525*12 RX8 note) + ($400*12 TL note)) combined are still below 15% of my yearly gross income.

FWIW when I was 22 I bought both a loaded Mazda6s and a loaded Mazda3s a few months later.
100% paid by me as a graduation gift to myself and the wife. I put myself though school with zero help with anything at all, and in fact gave my parents a lot of money to help them out when they needed it, worked as many as 3 jobs while attending full-time often getting no to only a couple hours sleep, graduated, and got a good job entirely on my own.
And yes, I can easily afford them both. I will be getting the RX-8 in a few more months.
And, now, after all that, I'm one of the most unambitious people ever. I'm happy just where I'm at making more money than I thought I ever would. Sucks peaking early (very early) in life.

I bought it when i was 16 and 4 months old...its under my parents name for now until my birthday in july...right now only driving it on the weekends and not doing anything crazy...saved up $10,000 in a year and a half by working weekends and doing schoolwork...it was a looooong year and a half...and i thought in the end i might feel upset giving all that money up at once...but it was definitely worth it...i love this car :-) its my baby...i can't wait until my license in july :-)

Im 16 and own a RX-8 that my parents completly paid for.....however they got it for me as a reward for getting good grades at school, but i dont see how this car is too much for a tennager because I drove a 4.4 BMW X-5 before I got the 8 and one of my best friends whos 17 just got a STi from his parents, but id understand that people would disagree with a teen owning a STi but a RX-8 isnt close to a STi as far as quickness, I disagree with all these people saying that teens should not drive RX-8s because they cannot handle them, as long as someone is willing to be very careful taking care of and driving it there shouldnt be a problem.

I make $95,000/yr + bonuses that avg anywhere from 5K to 15K per year depending on performance and the hours I bill. I am currently 100% billable and last year I made 12,500 in bonuses.
I also own a company, along with a partner. The company is MDP Enterprises, LLC which owns and operates 45 poker related internet forums. This was started just last year with only one website. We now have 6 websites operational, but own the other 40 and are trying to find people to run them. We are pulling in about $3800 in profits per month from this venture. (if you want an example of one of these websites visit www.md-poker.com)
I also play poker online at least 3 nights a week and probably about 5 or so hours on weekends which also can bring in anywhere from $250 to $2000 per month depending on how I do in different tournaments and the cash games. If I am doing really poor I can always take a trip to AC and hit the $1/$2 NL tables and pick off tourists left and right.
needless to say I get raped on taxes
p.s. -- after reading this I sound a bit egotistical and really I am not. Sorry if I come off that way.

It's nice to see my topic still goin! I have to confess, my loan is cosigned with my dad. BUT that is only because I didn't have enough credit to get a loan that big, and the parents have not dropped a single cent on my car.
Also, I can truly afford the car, as vitaliy mentioned earlier. The payments are less than 15% of my gross income.

When you boys are done measuring your dicks, let me know. :p
By the way, LIVING AT HOME and "fully paying" for your 8 really doesn't count. When you LIVE ALONE, then talk to me. I doubt the girls are that impressed that you're driving your "fully paid" 8 back home to mommy and daddy.
As a young (early 20's) single gal, I bought my 8 all on my own when I had a very high-paying job (which I no longer have but am much happier without it) and the payments are a little bit tough right now but I just forego that trip to Carl's Jr. And yes, I live all by myself and pay all my bills so when boys get impressed by my 8, I actually have a place to take them to instead of mom and dad's basement.

Hey ther Cali Girl does that mean I can talk to you. I'm 25 in the United States Marines stationed in San Diego. I own a house in Anaheim which I live in as well as rent out the rooms since I'm usually in San Diego, cuz I'd be stupid to leave it unattended. and BTW my 8 is fully paid for. I don't want to be a part of this dick measuring contest but was just wondering if I had what it takes to talk to you Cali Girl

Again, I love all these people that say they were 16 and it's in their name and they paid for it by themselves with no help from their parents.
Wake up! You have to be 18 to legally enter into a contract. Your parents had to sign for you, hence you didn't get the 8 *by yourself*.
Maybe this thread should be titled: "Are there any 18 year-olds that bought their 8 by themselves, pay for the gas, insurance, and don't live it home"
