Wait a sec....18,500 miles? Wowsa! How'd you get that many miles so fast?

One word : WORK !!!

If I hadn't been driving my dad's Millenia S over the last month due to weather conditions it would be much higher. So much for factory warranties !!!! :D

and yes, i agree that people will soon be bragging about LACK of miles !!!

I picked mine up on 11/24/03. I drive only on weekends (Sat & Sun) and I have 5,125 miles. That's only 12 weekends since 11/24, which equals to 24 days, so that's probably equal to 5.5K per month. If I included work milage, I would exceed 30K in 6 month =)

Bragging about low miles is stupid. That means youspend all your time on here, and washing car, but all it does is sit. Why buy one if you aren't gonna drive it. Makes no sense to me.

Well, when it comes time to trade in your car on a new one (or sell it outright) you will want to say that my car has only 50,000 miles on it rather than 150,000 miles....trust me on that.

Fun to drive...yes. But low milage makes it MORE fun when trying to sell it and get the best price.

All I was saying is that the thread was rather interesting given that later on there will be one asking who has the lowest milage 2004 out there...you watch - it will happen.

After reading this I wondered to myself...

If you are worried about problems on such low milage cars whats the long term going to be like? and if I want to take it on a DE how will this affect the car? I really wonder about the Rx8 after reading this site..

It's been said before. Buying a car as an investment sucks. If your really trying to be smart with your money you buy a used accord. Buying a new car and making sure to keep low miles on it is like burning your money a *little* bit slower.

With this car I enjoy my most days of 4 hours in the car. I had a econo car before and it sucked. Thats why I bought a new sports car.

I thought I'd win this one, but no. Glad to hear that there are other die hard drivers out there.

15,500+ miles, just had the 15k checkup. Was reluctant to hand it over since my car is absolutely perfect.

Picked it up 7/15/03, still have a great time every drive.

Had 321,803 on my 2nd Gen RX7 (but who's counting?) when I sold it after getting my Yellow RX8.

Ha! Got you all beat! 238,000 miles so far on my RX-8!

I put it up on jack-stands like it said on page 67B in the owner's manual. Started it right up and placed a brick against the gas pedal...rRrRrrrrrrrr

Been that way for the past 2 months and still going strong. The neighbors are getting pissed though...running the car at 5000RPM 24/7 does get a bit annoying.

Picked up my 8 on September 20th, 2003.

As of today February 23, 2004

18,950 miles

Just a few rattles in the door which annoy the H E double hockey sticks out of me.

49,660 from 9/3/04 to 5/29/05. No major problems. Just replaced the OEM RE40's with Yoko Neova's. The RE's proably could have lasted the summer (ain't ABS amazing for even treadwear?), even after this month's MazFest track day, at Buttonwillow. This car loves to be pushed! :D Minimally needs braided brake lines though, for track days.

3 months - 6000 miles... I'm headed for 24,000 miles the first year at this rate. I've logged over 1,300 miles in the last 8 days. I think I better start driving one of my other cars!

100 miles round trip to work, plus an extra 200/wk to pick up my 15yo son, twice/wk, etc. That's why I've been with rotarys, since '84, long legs these cars have!

XUr, Please go here to post the date you hit 50K. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/50-000-odometer-miles-club-62864/ I'll put the earliest dates at the top of the list. Feel free to approximate, if you don't have the exact date.
