White or Black Sport package
I have a choice between an 05 black sport package with 2 miles and an 05 white sport package with 7 miles...
Appearance modifications to BOTH cars will involve clear corneres, fully debadged front and back, and black powdercoat the stock rims until the handling and power issues of the car are satisfied... (full RB suspension, and custom turbo kit influenced by Mr Bell)
white on black looks mighty nice, while black on black is sexy too...
BTW I'm in Texas, I've never owned either color of car before... Probably leaning more to the white than the black due to heat, maintenance, and it looks a little cleaner when its actually dirty...
Thoughts? Opinions? Fire away!
I'm giddy with anticipation of driving off the lot with my new car!

I'd go with the white, for the reasons you mentioned, and also I think the black just tends to hide all the 8's curves. The red shows 'em the best (hehe), but since that's not an option...white.

Went to Circuit City today and I parked my WWP next to a black 8, the curves showed up much better on mine. The black looked nice but also dirty. If you go to the lot on a hot day touch the white then the black and feel the differance in temperature, that will be an issue in TX!!!!!!

Oh yeah! I actually noticed that today. When I got out of class and touched my car, my hand didn't feel like it was going to melt. My friend's car which is green was extremely hot. I was so surprised... :D

Not sure about the rest of TX, but if you live near Austin and drive the black it will turn white in a few days from the dust from road construction.

I love both colors. Black is very agressive-looking, but for some reason I actually prefer white on this car. Looks damn good. I'd go with White as well.

I just lined up my loan at the credit union... If everything goes nicely tonight I'll be driving home in my brandnew RX-8 !
I'll let you guys know if I get the car...
And thanks for the advice, Its kinda reinforced my decision to go with the white...
I lived in Austin the last 3 years and there is NO way I'd own a black car down there... but I've since gotten my BA from UT and moved back up to DFW...

Go with the white bro. You wont regret it, trust me. My old car was black and I changed that. Now look at her curves!

I'm loving the white more and more... I'm definitely pumped I bought the white over the black...
Thanks for the advice! And welcome me to the board now not only in spirit but as an owner of one hell of a piece of engineering...

Welcome! White was a great choice especially in Texas. I wanted an RX-7 when I moved to Dallas after graduating from UT but couldn't get any dealers to take me serious but that was back in 1980. Wound up getting a 10th Anniversary 280ZX.Got my Winning Blue this past October 24 years later. Haven't quit smilin yet although my wife grimaces everytime she sees a receipt from Racing Beat. It's all good!!!!! :D

The white was the right choice for you and it's the coolest paint I've ever seen on a car.
BUT... I personally wanted a black, but I'm leaning towards blue now. The gray is sweet too but very common. And I own a white car now and let me clarify that it is NOT easy to keep clean--this is a fallacy that you will realize after owning it for a while.

Bummed, but bring on OU!
Yup, white turns a dingy brownish gray rather quickly. Shows brake dust extremely well also. My last car was white. And black looks hot under the streetlights :D
