Where is the cigarette/power receptacle/

I use a PDA based GPS that draws power from the cigarette adapter.

I test drove an RX8 6MT GT and forgot to look for the placement of this.

Can anyone tell me where it is located and if a picture is available, that woud be great.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mikeb,

WOuldl you say that one can drive with this open? I have need to place an adater in there with a small speaker attached so that I can hear the GPS instructions. I hope this would setup would not have me hitting ithe speaker every time I shift gears.

If it does, I will have to have something hard wired is all.,

Thanks,

Claude H.

It wouldn't be in the way at all, although the cover might flip closed by itself.

Question

hey claude, which GPS receiver/SW are you using?

And just so I'm not completely jacking your thread, there's also another cig. lighter behind the flip panel directly forward of the gear shift (er, US model at least.) This one might actually suit your needs as well or better, depending on your speaker setup.

Cheers,
-jd.

JD & Wing,

Thanks, the one forward of the shifter sounds like the deal.

JD, I have been using an iPAQ 3950 with PowerLOC Destinator GPS software and found it to be the most capable voice anotated car GPS system fir the PocketPC/ (IMHO, of course).

Previously I had using the Palm, since '96.

The iQUE 3600's integration with the Palm address and Calendar as well as the "waay it works" I can say that I find myslf with an e en better solution. Definetly worth checking out if you are interested in a portable (btwn 2 or more cars), less costly (+/- $550 with accessories) as long as one understands that it will not have that built in look.

I learn more about how to get around the iQUE each time I sue it for the last 5 weeks.
