When it rains it pours...
If you remember, my bumper was hit and did some damage a little while ago. Well, today, I had my car @ the dealer for a seat replacement (base broke) and a CEL(insufficient coolent temp) and while there someone in their infinite wisdom left a car with a manual tranny unattended with the parking brake disengaged and needless to say guess where it rolled. Right, just like a mosquito to a light. Just like a fly to ****. Smacked into my front bumper and fudged up the drivers side this time.
I guess there is some positive in it all. Before with the previous damage all I was going to get was a repaired bumper. Now, due to the extra damage, the dealer is picking up the tab for a new bumper. I was going to have to cover my ins co. deductible for the original damage. Now, the dealer is willing to pay MY deductible from the original claim and pay for the remainder of the cost to replace the bumper just to keep my a happy visiting customer. Also, mentioned replacing with a MS bumper
with me paying the diff between the two after a 10% discount off the wholesale price that they pay. All in all, I'm looking at paying roughly $400-500'ish to get the MS or pay nothing and get an oem bumper. Hmmmmmm, what's a guy to do.... I guess even the sun shines on a dog's *** every now and then
I have to give it up to the dealer (Herb Easley, Wichita Falls TX). They immediately made me aware of the damage. Never tried to pawn it off like it was already there. Had every manager in the place out there making sure I was happy with the solution. To top it off, the service manager offered me oil changes and minor maintenance on the house as his personal apology. He did verbally apologize, though.
I left feeling the dealer made the best out of a bad situation.
I'll post up pics tomm. It's dark right now. Thanx for listening, Texas 8--Greg

Sounds like the dealer did a fair job of making it up to you. So tell me, exactly how did you get in to the other car, disengage the e-brake and push it into your already damaged bumper? I need to learn how so I can go by my dealer and strike a deal for an MS bumper of my own. :D If the sun shines on a dogs *** now and then, I am still waiting for it to shine on me....
WOW. Looks like due to this 'sour' turn of events, you are left with many options... all of them being advantageous to you!!! Just think, if that silly person would not have backed into your car, you would surely not be in the place to 'debate' such a hard decision
