So a couple days ago i flooded my car, had to get it towed down to mechanic to be fixed. Ended up replacing 4 spark plugs...$400 later. When i picked up car, filled the tank with petrol then was driving it home...was going all good till i got to my drive way and the engine just stopped. restarted car and kept turning off, finally after the third attempt put my foot down on accelerator and got it up driveway then when i stopped, the car turned off again. Seems to go when have foot down on accelerator but when the car is in idle it just turns off. Has been at a rotary specialist for 2days now and they said they have checked everything and cant seem to find anything wrong with car......Can anybody help or suggest what it may be? could it be dirty fuel?

 

WOW 400 bucks for 4 spark plugs? those things are only 80 bucks for all 4 if you take the time to do them yourself, about a 30 minute job. Any check engine lights? is your battery good? check the alternator out.

 

Sounds like the same symptoms I experienced when I had run down coil packs.

My 8 would die at idle every now and then. Not repeatedly though. At the time I would fill up at a convienient but no name gas station. Only put BP or Cheveron in the car now and it never happened again.
