Hi, I live in CA, I dont mean to be rude to the police.....I actually like them, like the time we need them to bust drug dealers down, or help the cat that's stuck on a tree......hell, even the time when they run after that crazy driver who is convinced your car is a ghost.......but seriously

My car is stock(look at my pic) I have nothing....except maybe interior blue light and blue xenon light.....for god's sake I dont even have a spoiler on my rx-8
and technically the 8 is a "sedan" no? cops around my neighborhood seems to like trailing my *** and out of the blue, would stop me when I go 40 as if for fun and ask to see if my car have any illegal mods on it......why? I DONT KNOW!!!!
anybody get harassed also? what the heck

The infamous DWB strikes again. I wouldnt think Cali would be like that. Definately more of a Mississippi type thing.

 

i've been tailed before too, despite driving normally. my guess is, sometimes, there are just days when they are bored and have nothing better to do but intimidate us a bit.

that said- one time, i was westbound on melrose on my way to work, and this bugatti goes pealing down the street. (there is an exotic car body shop near melrose & fairfax.) anyhow. i was thinking to myself, what an idiot. and, like clockwork 2 blocks down the road a motorcycle cop got him. (i was laughing my *** off.) not that i don't have sympathy. but, if u'r driving a car like that AND u speed like a moron, you're just asking for it.

anyhow. just go w/ traffic flow and don't draw any attention to yourself and don't make eye contact. and, most of the time u should be ok.

mmm, not sure if it has a wrecked mustang. but, every a.m. they park a single car parallel to the curb with half the car on the driveway and half on the street. never understood WHY... and, it's always a diff car every day. but, yah- it's on melrose just east of fairfax.

 

It's probably the area. Cops don't give me a second glance. Only time they stop me is when they write me a ticket.

 

We've had a bunch of "street racing" related accidents in SoCal lately so I'm not surprised to see them cracking down. I think there were 2 or 3 such accidents in Riverside county last month, one in SD, and probably another in LA somewhere.

I usually just REV my engine at them if they tail me.

You'd be surprised bro. I lived in Meridian, MS and I'm now in the Bay Area (SF). Fifteen minutes in any direction from SF and you'll get DWBs all the time! Walnut Creek, Antioch, Pitsburg, Milbrae, San Mateo, Redwood City, Hillsborough, Fairfield, Benicia, Dublin, Sunnyvale, Mill Valley, HMB, Pleasanton, etc.

I actually always wave to cops if they are looking at me. Don't know if it helps, but I've never had a cop that I waved to pull me over. I do think that sometimes it's just enough to make them think twice about pulling out and following me, and a seconds hesitation is usually enough to be gone.


^ must be nice to have a badge to display on the rare occasions they get to the "can I see your license" part, huh?

 

Just remember, blasting '**** The Police' while getting pulled over by the police... is just ig'nant.

 

I play the song in my car on the way to jail. SOme get a kick out of it. Then when thats over I play Bad Boys by innner circle. When I arrive at the jail I play the theme song to Beverly Hills Cop 2
