What's the cost of a compression test now-a-days?

I'm considering whether to trade in now for a different car if the compression test results are borderline, rather than have another engine failure.

TIA

Edit: Can a mod fix that awesome typo in the subject? Thanks

I pay $125 once a year to check mine. Call around, different dealers have different pricing.

You could also post up in your regional forum to see if a member in your area has a tester.

Likely it'll be cheaper than your local dealer.
