My R3 is pulling almost 4k RPM's at only 70 mph. Seems a little high for 6th gear.

The first two digits of my rpm's are literally half my speed in 6th gear. At 60 I'm turning 3k. At 70 I'm turning 3.5k. At 80 4k, so on and so forth. It's awesome.

Something else that's cool is that at 3000 rpm, the speeds in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 mph.

I feel sorry for people in metric countries who do not have this feature.

Ken

The final drive axle ratio is lower on the 09's than the 08's with 6 speed sport option.

6 spd auto, I believe 72-74 (where I set my CC) is usually right around 3k.

Yeah....mine does the same thing. What really gets me is that, when you do the math, you should only be turning 3406rpm at 70 mph.....I asked the dealer and they had no idea why this could be. I'm glad I'm not alone!

Actually, 09s have it slightly different..

2nd is 20

3rd is 32

4th is 43

5th is 54

6th is 63

R is 150

I eventually want a taller 6th gear. I'll never use it for speed. The most I'll do with this car (in terms of performance) is autocross and my friend who has been doing it for a while now say's he rarely gets out of 3rd on an autocross course. I would like to be running 65mph at 2000, maybe 2,500 to save some gas. Not sure how much fuel it would actually save though and any rpm lower than that would just be too low. Currently at 65mph I'm running at about 31 or 3200. Hmmm..

Problem would that be loss of performance in all other gears.

I don't know much about this, but I thought that the gears we're completely independant of each other. Please explain if you wouldn't mind. Thanks,
