Um yeah right every car I ever bought that was run hard out the box ran better than the one's that were babied.

 

not only gas, but oil too. I have a little area in my garage where I keep a box of oil at all times.

 

wow i wish my parents were like that. When I first asked them for something more expensive than a toy, they handed me an empty piggy bank w/ our local classified ad listing all the jobs i could apply for and told me two words "Start saving."

 

I actually was happy with my s2k, but then, it was 2 seater, and mommy no like 2 seater, nor did she like the rag top

i had to bring my gpa up to 3.5 (high school gpa)
which I did, but did not get into NYU =(

but still got the car and currently attending college in new york =]

 

Yeah, I didn't get a car till I was 21. When I asked my parents if they would buy me an 8 they just laughed at me, lol. Would never complain about it tho, got to work for what you want.

The best was when I was talking to them about an 8 (Needed them to sign the papers, bc no one would give me a loan), I used the whole... "its only a 1.3L it will get great gas mileage"...I'm paying for gas so that lie didn't really effect them.

 

Too bad my parents would actually take their time to research that info first before co-signing, even if i did tell them i was paying for the gas and all that other stuff.

 

Oh no they did, and they came right back at me...then came the engine flooding, cold weather starts, oil consumption, and any other complaint people have about the car. I convinced them into taking a test drive and when my dad drove one for the first time, huge smile across the face!

Sorry to hear that, it was the only option I had. Didn't have that much cash, and no one was giving me a loan. They warned me very clearly tho...I miss a payment the car goes.

I actually was going to get an used 99 Eclipse GSX, but my dad said it was too old. And he didn't want me to worry about car problems. So I chose the 8 afterwards. I'm guessing it's working fine. Since I get paid big balling $$, I can pay for the car. But it sure doesn't mean I couldn't get help from my parents when taking it off the lot.
