what are these for?

i assume 1 is for resetting the trip odometer, but what would the other be for?

Just a thought, but what about adjusting the backlight?
Or possibly to "scroll" through the trip A/B, etc...

my bmw has 2 of those as well, ones for resetting the trip comp and the other changes the mode, like it changes the clock to something else, forgot

They are for the Artificial Passenger, these are the water spraying nozzles. see the attached picture for more info
