Thanks, I never knew that. Do you have a link?

let me ask you this then,

does it worth getting a shinka over a gt for $1500 more ?

I think that GT would do just fine but if i get enough yey's towards a shinka i will get it
Personally, I don't think I would pay +$1500 for a Shinka but I do love the 2006 Copper Red color. Not crazy 'bout the very light colored interior in contrast to all the black plastic. Maybe if I drove a Shinka back-to-back on a track and was convinced that the suspension really suited me more than a non-Shinka.

He's talking about the 2005 Shinka - I'd get it just for the Black Cherry/Parchment interior color combo.

That is one sexy color...

There was a Sport Compact Car article regarding the benefits of urethane foam filling. Increased damping and rigidity without sacrificing much weight I recall. It sounded like a very convincing modification.

The 2009's have urethane-filled crossmember standard I think, or is it just for the R3?

The Shinkas that are worth the $1500 premium are the copper red ones.

With the way car sales are right now, you should be able to negate the Shinkaness of a car and get it for a non-Shinka price. Just tell them you like the car, but aren't willing to spend extra on it.

I realize that, of course, but Copper Red is the only I would consider paying extra for, personally. Color preference is rather subjective. In reality, 'though, Shinkas and GTs were ruled out for me because of the loss of headroom with the sunroof.

I have an 06 and have a build number. Blue Book all RX8s and the Shinka will always have a higher value. Just an appearance package in 06?? Where did you read that?? Post a link so I can read it!

How did you find out that only 300 Copper Reds were made in 06?

I'm sorry but the Copper Red is much nicer looking than Black Cherry.

Here is a link to 06 production numbers

NO 2007 SHINKAS

Mazda didn't turbo the 8 because the Renesis engine pushed close to the HP that the FD did. The FE has a 13b engine but the ports are designed differently than the FC and FD engines. Ports are in the Irons as opposed to the Housings. Do you some of you know the difference? Sounds like some do but certainly some don't.

And Shinka means "My RX8 is nicer than yours"

The RENESIS engine will power the Mazda RX-8 when it arrives in US showrooms in July. The US-specification RX-8 is officially rated at 247 hp at 8,500 rpm and 159 lb./ft. of torque at 5,500 rpm for cars equipped with a manual transmission. In addition, the car will meet California low-emission vehicle specifications for those states that require it, and Federal Tier 2 certification for all others.

The FD 7 rated a 252 hp

That's just a fancy talk for burgundy. People only buy burgundy vehicles when it is a deal they can not pass up. "Yeah I'm hoping for a better color, but this price is too good to pass up". Nobody wants to buy burbundy if they can help it.

Usually, people can only scrounge up enough cash and financing to get a "xyz brand name at any personal cost" and guess what, it is burgundy.

rx8 is unique in that they charge even more for burgundy color. Ridiculous!

Every other color is better than burgundy.

Some of the color hiearchy ascension:

1. burgundy
2. brown
3. beige
4. grey (sometimes called "silver" or "titanium")
5. white (sometimes called "pearl" or "snowflake" or "princess")
6. blue (sometimes called "winning blue" for no reason)
7. yellow (etc etc)
8. red (etc etc)
9. green (etc etc)
10. black (sometimes called "midnight" or other moronic name)

I also have to admit I love the Black Cherry color. It truly needs to be viewed in the sunlight to appreciate it. Before I saw it in person I loved the winning blue but the Black Cherry...Pictures do not give it justice.
