guys i keep hearing this Shinka WTF?????

 

Shinka was a limited edition model RX8, kinda like the 40thAE. Google it for more info.

 

It was a special edition model. It came with a special color leather seat and paint. The front cross member was urethane foam filled and some(maybe all) had Bilsein shocks.

RotaryNews on the Shinka Special Edition only made in 2005 for a total production run of 2150 RX-8's. The some of the features of the special edition include the Black Cherry Exterior, special bright finish wheels, and bright-chrome head and tail light fixtures. On the inside, parchment leather seats and more use of piano black accents provide a look and feel of luxury. Looks aren't all that changed on this RX-8, however. Chassis improvements include:

The only true Shinka [2005 Black Cherry Mica paint] looks like my avatar.

There were special edition Shinka's in other colors in 2006 and 2007 and then that was it.

The 40th Edition in 2008 and the new R3 in 2009 are also special editions.

The R3 has Bilstein's.

The '05 and later Shinka's also have upgraded suspensions (dampers), but not Bilstein's; rather Tokico (a subgroup of Hitachi).

They do have the urentane filled crossmember (engine bay bridge).

btw: I do like the Copper Red as well.

 

My RX8 has TOKICO;s, but mine is SHINKA blue

 

There is a dealer in Miami trying to sell an 04 rx8 as a shinka online. Made me giggle.
