What is this plastic cover that I found on the alternator?
I meant to post this question when I filled up oil the first time, because that's when I found this plastic cover sitting in front of the oil refill place, on top of the alternator.
It was just sitting lose there, and I suspected for a moment, that it came from the oil bottle and I had put it there absent-minded.
Today I opened the second bottle.. same brand, and no, that piece of plastic did not come from there.
Anyone else have seen this piece? Where does it go? Maybe there where the second picture shows? I've been driving 3 weeks without that piece, just would like peace of mind.
Sorry, I got a blurry picture only.
Maybe this is a stupid question, so come and flame me then :-)

I just looked there again with a buddy and he thinks that it is something to protect plastic from heat.
No we didn't find any holes that it would fit or cover.
Could be that it indeed belonged somewhere very "far" away like the battery.. I'll look again.
Thanks for your help, guys
