I think this is a dealer prerogative. I got an 05 Shinka and I don't have "Free Scheduled Maintenance" although I was able to haggle for 2 yrs worth of free oil change coupons from the dealer.

Free scheduled maintenance was only on the RX-8's sold before Mazda revised the horsepower specs.

It's not the late-model RX-8s, it's the very early models.

When Mazda was forced to admit that the engine was over-rated, and lowered the horsepower rating, one of the things they offered some buyers to keep them from giving their car back (which they were also allowed to do) was free maintenance for the duration of the warranty.

Also some dealer's offer free maintenance, but it's not a Mazda program of any sort.

You bought the car, you would know more than anyone else would. Sometimes it's offered on a case-by-case basis, so no one aside from you is going to know. If you don't know that you do, then you probably don't.

The engine was not over-rated in HP. It all had to due with the life expectancy of the OEM CAT. The Port of Entry Flash Campaign lowered the numbers to give the CAT a longer life to meet our strict regulations. If you pre-ordered your car, you had the option of a buy back or free 50K maintenance and a $500 dollar AMEX debit card. I took the deal and kept my car. I have since modifed to get back what they took out.

I'm slowly getting there piece by piece in normally aspirated fashion. My biggest boost was from my self tuned CZ. I'm running about 13.6 above 6K and kicks you in the pants with my mods.
