i am interested in buying a 8. if i get one it may becoming from a dealer auction. i never been to one and have no idea how much you can look in to a car.

if i find one with 40-50k miles 04 or 05 is there a good chance i am going to have problems? from what i read on here people have been having their engines replaced because of hot weather? i doubt it would have a warrenty, is this safe or not?

does the 8 year 100k mile warrenty that is on the 8s now cover this?

any information on what to look for and avoid, warrenty and recall information would be great thanks

 

You could get the VIN and check with Mazda and get its history and see if its still on warranty.

also does the 100k 8yr warranty apply to all 8s? and does that cover new engine if needed?

 

Here's a key thing I missed when I bought my used rx8 at 55,000. Check to make sure the cd player works and I mean bring an actual cd with you just to see!

Just like what Old Rotor mentioned get its history and find out if there were any specific problems one example would be Power Steering.

 

would i just call a mazda dealer or mazda their selves?

 

i just purchased a 05 rx8 with 9,200 miles the only things im noticing i need to look at is check the tire treads and see when the last time the oil was changed in the vehicle. i do have a slight ruff idle when the cars at a complete stop. any advice??
