What kind of RX-8 is this?

The things on the vents by the wheel, are those stock? Or did someone have them put on?

They're called strakes, and someone stuck them on.

Thanks, is this a Grand Touring? Bc I notice some have the body kit and some don't. I was wondering which models have it

Looks like leather and a sunroof, so a GT.

Like ken said, strakes are aftermarket.

The Appearance Package (body kit) was optional on all 8's, so it doesn't designate the trim level at all.

Even though that car looks pretty clean in the pics, it's over priced unless it has super low mileage and very good compression.

According to edmonds.com, it looks farely priced for an 80K mile car (you didn't mention the mileage). http://www.edmunds.com/mazda/rx-8/20...e-results.html

It seems like it depends a lot on where you live. A $9000 RX-8 in Los Angeles is either salvage title or completely trashed.

That car has the fish bowl tail light mod as well. Around here you can get a clean 04' GT with low miles in the $9,000.00-$10,000.00 range.

Fish bowl? I thought they were stock tail lights.

This is one like I want it. By the time i called them to check on this they had sold it. And i haven't been able to find one like this and around this price range since Titanium gray, black leather, heated seats, automatic, paddle shifters, navigation, sunroof, spoiler, appearance package. Hard to find all those things in one. I finally found one in Texas almost exactly like this but without the appearance package. Does anyone know how much it would be to add that to it?

From Mazda, it would cost you your first born.

There are some ebay companies that sell them, but their quality could be questionable (depending on who you ask).
Or, you could try searching here for someone wanting to sell their appearance package.

Every RX-8 has the fish bowl tail light mod at some point or another in its life. It's when the tail light gasket goes bad and it fills up with water. (notice the condensation in pic #2)

IMO the appearance package is overrated. Our cars look cleaner without it.

usually he who does not like the appearance package does not have the appearance package. the appearance package makes the car look drastically better.

When I bought the car, it has the appearance package, but without the spoiler. Now, I have the spoiler, and now I could say that my car is a 100% complete appearance package.

I wish a had the appearance package... I have gotten a spoiler and fog lights for my base MT though. There is a seller on ebay that sells the whole appearance package mazda genuine parts and factory painted, probably much cheaper than a dealer. I got my OEM fog lights and spoiler (factory painted) for about $130, $60 for the fogs, and $70 for the spoiler.

Here's a link if anyone is interested.
